One block at a time.

A Block of the Month is a program you join, not just a pattern. A new block and a new video class arrive each month, and you sew along at your own pace until the quilt or program is finished.

How a program unfolds

Every program runs on its own schedule. Join partway through and every block already released is waiting in your account, ready to sew the day you start.

How it works

Can I join one that has already started?

Yes, and you are not behind. Programs under Start anytime are fully released, so everything unlocks the moment you join. Programs under Join in progress give you every block released so far, all at once, and the rest arrive on their normal schedule.

What actually arrives, and when?

Patterns and video classes land in your GE Designs account, so nothing ships and nothing gets lost in the post. Programs that include fabric ship a physical kit, and the dates for those are listed on each program above.

What if I fall behind?

You set the pace. Everything you have bought stays in your account, so a busy month costs you nothing. Plenty of quilters start a program long after it finished and sew it straight through.

Mystery or not, which is which?

A mystery BOM keeps the finished quilt hidden and reveals it block by block while the program is active, which is how London Calling, Christmas in Europe, A Stroll In Paris, and Cruising the Caribbean work. Standard, non-mystery BOMs show you the whole quilt up front and unfolds over months, like Echoes of Iceland and Isold.

Can I buy one block at a time?

On some programs, yes. Single blocks are priced individually each. Full access always works out cheaper, and you can check that yourself: the crossed-out price on each program is exactly what its blocks add up to bought singly.

Which rulers and fabric do I need?

Every program is written for Stripology rulers and works just as well with regular rulers, so nothing is required to get started. Most are fat quarter friendly, and each one comes with a fabric guide, yardage and a tool list.
