The Creative Grids® Rotary Cutting Mat by Gudrun Erla is double-sided. One side features one-inch grids with eighth inch markings over the entire surface. All numbers are printed outside of the grid area, so they are always visible. Popular 1-1/2 inch cuts are highlighted with white stars; 2-1/2 inch cuts with white squares. Eighth, quarter, and third yard cuts are marked with dashed lines for easy reference.

The other side is designed to use with the Creative Grids® Stripology series of rulers. Line up the fabric and rulers on the spaced horizontal half inch grid lines. That is all you need – no other distracting markings and lines are needed!

The surface of this mat has a 'grip' to it that I really appreciate in comparison, I currently have a Martelli 24 x 36 mat and I like Creative Grids much better for that reason alone. The main reason I switched is for the color and the lines that work with Stripology rulers and Creative Grids rulers, there is way less going on and the color grey just works better instead of yellow or purple and a thousand markings everywhere.

I love how big it is and how it feels when I cut on it. Very pleased.

Best Mats

I absolutely love these cutting mats!! I have two 24”x36” set up on my cutting station and I keep an 18” one in my retreat bag ready to go.

Best Mat on the Market!

The only mat I will use. It works perfectly with GE Design Stripology rulers and the color is neutral enough for light and dark fabrics.

Love using it in conjunction with the rulers. Very handy cutting 85 mystery quilt kits. Really sped things up!

Very high quality mat

I absolutely LOVE this mat. It's very high quality --- thicker than the one that I was replacing and I appreciate having the additional markings 1/8 and 1/3rd yds as I also do a lot of sewing in addition to quilting.

I bought the largest mat in fact 2 of them and am highly disappointed as when using I used it it...

an expensive mat like that should be self healing. My cheaper mats perform better!!!
