Do I have to buy the kit to join the Quilt Along?
No. All five parts are free on YouTube, and they stay free. The kit is simply the fabric the quilt was designed around, so you are not hunting down yardage or guessing at substitutions. You also get an exclusive cutting video when you buy the kit.
Is this a good project if I am still fairly new?
Yes. Gudrun rates Victory for a confident beginner. The entire quilt is built from half square triangles using simple, repeatable steps, and Gudrun walks through every one of them on video. You can pause and rewind as many times as you need.
Do I need a Stripology ruler?
Victory is designed for use with Stripology® rulers. That is what keeps the cutting fast and the pieces accurate. Instructions to make Victory without the Stripology rulers are included in the pattern as well.
What if I fall behind?
Nothing expires. Every quilt along video lands in your GE account and stays there, so you can sew along live in September or start in January, or whenever you want! The dates are there to give the group a rhythm, not a deadline.
How big is the finished quilt?
53 inches by 73 inches.

I already have fabric I love. Can I still sew along?
Please do. Victory looks just as good scrappy as it does in a coordinated collection. Grab the pattern on its own and pull from your stash.

I have done BOM with Gudrun before but, I haven't been able to do the whole kit. I am so amazed at the colors of fabric and the book is spiral binding too! Its going to be so much fun!
OMG such amazing color, design and feel in the fabric. The pattern book is beautiful! It is full of Icelandic and pattern details, spiral bound so it’s easy to use and has the necessary guides to use the smaller rulers for the stripologized cutting! So fantastic! And the quilt is gorgeous!

I can't remember the last time I was this excited about a block of the month project; and it hasn't even begun! My fabric and book came about a week or so ago; and I couldn't wait to get that box opened. And I definitely wasn't disappointed. The fabrics are gorgeous and very well packaged. The book is amazing. I've started reading though it; and it is so well done. I know whatever I get from Gudrun and her team will be first rate. And this kit is no exception. Everything is back in the box so I'm not tempted to tear into it before it's time to do so. Waiting...waiting...waiting... Is it time yet?

I can't wait to make this quilt.
I am really disappointed to hear there won't be videos with this quilt pattern. I thought perhaps with the half square triangles there might be a tutorial on at least that. Please, I encourage you to think about a video for this pattern! I think the pattern would sell better if there were a video along with it. PS I went ahead and bought it because I loved it so much, now I'm worried I won't be able to put it together!
Will there be video along with the pattern. I love the videos that go along with other patterns demonstrating step by step instructions and tips. I won't purchase the kit until I hear about a pattern video. Thank you.
